The Break Free Program, part 2

Time flew by and the project final was submitted almost 2 weeks ago now. Naturally I have mixed feelings. I am so happy for the experience, so thrilled with the response, and so excited for the future. Going forward with the support of my new acquaintances in the photography world is exciting territory. As we all move forward toward eliminating (hopefully) the threat from Covid-19 and it becomes possible to safely meet in person again, I look forward to meeting new people face to face and going on photography expeditions in new territories. I hope if you haven’t visited my blog page on the Olympus website that you will take a moment to do so. Follow the link below.

Of course I’m also feeling a bit adrift now that there isn’t a deadline, a project goal, a driving motivation behind my photography. I have been out shooting since the project end, but life took a new turn as I am working in Minneapolis for the first months of winter. It’s a challenge to be away from my family, and from “my” mountains. There is beauty to be found everywhere, but being on unfamiliar territory in the holiday season makes it hard to get motivated and go exploring. I am working out a personal goal, complete with deadline (last day in Minnesota, February 28th) of some sort of project to fill my days off, but haven’t worked out the details, i.e. what I am shooting… Water and ice seem likely subjects! A Colorado girl in a Minnesota landscape, I am just amazed at the number of lakes. Endless water. Just endless.
